Commonly Asked Questions for Sea Pines Resort
Q: Is Sea Pines a private community?
A: Yes, Sea Pines is a private, gated resort and residential community on Hilton Head Island. As BESTNEST guests, your vehicle passes will be waiting for you at check in and will remain valid for the duration of your stay. Passes are required 24/7 for all vehicles entering Sea Pines, in order to avoid an entrance fee.
Q: Do BESTNEST guests have access to Sea Pines amenities?
A: Yes, BESTNEST guests staying in Sea Pines do have access to many of the resort’s amenities, including the Sea Pines Fitness Center, tennis and pickleball courts, and, of course, the beautiful beaches and bike paths. Many of our guests enjoy Harbour Town, as well as the golf courses at Heron Point and Atlantic Dunes at the Plantation Club. Tee times can be booked directly through Sea Pines.
For the Fitness Center, you can check their class schedule and facility info online or call them directly at 843-842-1979 for daily and weekly rate details.
Sea Pines also offers access to tennis and pickleball courts, which you can book directly with the South Beach Racquet Club located at South Beach or Sea Pines Racquet Club located in the Harbour Town area.
Q: Can we bring our dogs to the beach in Sea Pines?
A: Yes, dogs are allowed on the beach at certain times of the day with a few seasonal restrictions. Please adhere to the Town of Hilton Head’s Guidelines for all beaches:
- October-March: Dogs allowed on the beach anytime on leash or under voice control
- April-the Thursday before Memorial Day: Dogs allowed only on leash from 10am-5pm, and on leash or under voice control from 5pm-10am
- Friday before Memorial Day-Labor Day: NO dogs allowed from 10am-5pm. Dogs allowed on leash or under voice control from 5pm-10am
- Tuesday after Labor Day-September: Dogs allowed on leash from 10am-5pm, and on leash or under voice control from 5pm-10am
- Please remember it is illegal to allow your pet to chase or harass wildlife, and all pet waste must be removed from the beach before departing. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department patrols the beach to ensure safety and enforce all beach regulations
Q: Who is permitted to use the Sea Pines beach shuttle service?
A: Those permitted to access this service include*:
- Weekly rental pass guests
- Sea Pines property owners, their family members, and their guests
- Long term renters and their personal guests
*During hours of operation, a lot attendant will be present and day visitors will not be allowed access
What Information can you share about the Beach Shuttle?
The Beach Shuttle will operate from March 26 – September 6 (Labor Day)* from 9 AM- 5 PM, seven days a week weather permitting
Beach Shuttle parking is available from Lot 8 (Located off of Greenwood Drive between Fraser Circle and Willow Oak Road West) with drop off service to The Sea Pines Beach Club. During hours of operation, a lot attendant will be present and day visitors will not be allowed access.
Items allowed on beach shuttle include beach chairs, sand toys, tote bags, coolers, single pole umbrellas, beach buggies and strollers (foldable only), boogie boards and skim boards no longer than 4ft, and service animals only
Items NOT allowed on beach shuttle include tents or shade enclosures, kayaks, canoes, surf boards, and bikes. Any items deemed unacceptable by the shuttle driver will not be permitted
If the beach shuttle is at capacity, those waiting in line will have to wait for the next shuttle. Service ends at 5PM, so please make sure you plan your return time accordingly
Q: Can we ride the Sea Pines trolley to locations other than the beach?
A: Yes! In addition to the beach shuttle, BESTNEST guests may utilize the Sea Pines trolley service during their stay. The trolley service runs from May 16-September 7, with routes stopping at Harbour Town, Lawton Stables, The Shops at Sea Pines Center, South Beach, and more. Q: Do we need to rent bikes for our stay? Can we bring our own?
A: While you are welcome to bring your own bikes, renting is an easy option and we are happy to assist. Our preferred bike rental vendor is Hilton Head Outfitters. Please mention you are one of our guests and usecode BSSP! They will have your bikes delivered straight to your BESTNEST and pick them up after your departure.
